Watterson, Bill (1958– )

US cartoonist. After graduating from Kenyon College in 1980, where he had done political cartooning, he spent five years trying to find his niche. Starting in 1985 he produced the syndicated newspaper comic strip, ‘Calvin and Hobbes’, featuring a mischievous six-year-old boy and his toy tiger come-to-life. Watterson was born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
