wavelength

Distance between successive crests or troughs of a wave. The wavelength of a light wave determines its colour; red light has a wavelength of about 700 nanometres, for example. The complete range of wavelengths of electromagnetic waves is called the electromagnetic spectrum.

This work describes a procedure for acquiring a spectrum of an analyte over an extended range of wavelengths and validating the wavelength and intensity assignments.
The company says that its own technology is able to generate 100Gbps over a single wavelength, unlike other 100G tests in the past that have combined two 40Gbps wavelengths or have inversely multiplexed ten 10Gbps wavelengths.
These wavelengths are combined (multiplexed) at the source end, and then separated (demultiplexed) via color filters at the destination end.
