Waynesburg

Town and administrative headquarters in Greene County, southwest Pennsylvania; population (1990) 4,300. It is located 61 km/38 mi south of Pittsburgh. Coal mining and dairy and livestock farming are important in the area. It is home to Waynesburg College (1849).
