Web TV

Loosely, any set-top box or similar system that connects a television set to the Internet, mainly for the purpose of browsing Web pages.

WebTV Networks is a US company, founded in 1995 by Steve Perlman, Bruce Leak, and Phil Goldman, which provides Internet access via the television set. The company was bought by Microsoft in 1997. The WebTV service was renamed MSN (Microsoft Network) TV in June 2000.
