Webb, Karrie Anne (1974– )| Australian golfer. She topped the rankings in 1996, her debut year, on the US LPGA Tour, and also became the first female player to win over US$1 million in a season. She turned professional in 1994 after a promising amateur career. She had one season on the European Tour, during which she won the British Open, before switching to the US LPGA Tour. In 1999 she won her first major, the Du Maurier Classic, and again finished the year top of the rankings. In December 2000, she led Australia to victory in the inaugural Women's World Cup. |
