Weber, Bernhard Christian

    0.03 sec.

Weber, Bernhard Christian (1712–1758)

German organist and composer. It was long claimed that he anticipated Bach by writing a set of preludes and fugues for keyboard in all the keys, entitled Das wohltemperierte Clavier, but he was actually an imitator, the work, wrongly dated 1689 (23 years before his birth), being in fact written in 1743. He was appointed organist at Tennstedt in 1732.
