Weeden, Donald Edward (1930– )

US stockbroker. In 1956 he joined Weeden & Co., the investment house his father founded. A leading ‘third market’ firm, Weeden & Co., by the late 1960s handled approximately 8% of the total business in stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange, effectively challenging the exchange's monopoly. He became chairman of the family firm in 1970. Weeden was born in Oakland, California. He graduated from Stanford University in 1951.
