Weidinger, Christine (1946– )

US soprano. She studied in Phoenix and with Margaret Harshaw. She made her debut in 1972 at Washington DC, as Musetta. From 1974 she sang in New York at the Metropolitan Opera House; she appeared in West Germany and elsewhere in Europe from 1981. Her roles included such dramatic and bel canto repertory as Norma, Donna Anna, Mozart's Electra, Amina, Gilda, and Trovatore. She sang Constanze at Monte Carlo (1988), Vitellia at La Scala (1990), and Lucia di Lammermoor for Cincinnati Opera (1991).
