Weigel, Helene (1900–1971)
Austrian actor and director. She co-founded the Berliner Ensemble with her husband Bertolt Brecht in 1949 and took leading roles in productions of his plays, visiting London in 1956 and 1965. She took over direction of the Ensemble after Brecht's death in 1956.
