Weinstein, Harvey (1952– )

US film producer. Together with his brother, Robert, he founded Miramax, a film production and distribution company that was at the forefront of the independent film boom of the 1990s. Miramax went on to release some the most successful films of the late-20th and early-21st centuries.

Weinstein also co-produced several plays and musicals, such as Baz Luhrmann's La Bohème and The Producers (2001). His films include The English Patient (1996), Shakespeare in Love (1998), The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001–03), Chicago (2002), Cold Mountain (2003), and Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004).
