Wekiva Springs

Town in Seminole County, east-central Florida; population (1990) 23,000. It is located14 km/9 mi northwest of Orlando city centre. It is a booming residential community amid lakes and golf courses, taking its name from Wekiva (or Wekiwa) Springs; these are among Florida's largest and are the source of the Wekiva River, which flows 24 km/15 mi northeast to join the Saint Johns River.
