Welwyn

Village in Hertfordshire, southeast England, 5 km/3 mi northwest of Welwyn Garden City; population (2001) 9,700. Excavations have revealed evidence of Roman occupation here.

The poet Edward Young was rector here for 35 years and was buried in the church in 1765.
