West Allis

Town in Milwaukee County, southeast Wisconsin; population (1990) 63,200. It is a residential and industrial suburb adjoining Milwaukee to the southwest. The headquarters of the Allis-Chalmers company, producers of industrial and farm machinery and trucks, is in the town. Among other manufactures are motors, electronic equipment, castings, and diverse iron and steel products.
