West Jordan

Town in Salt Lake County, north-central Utah; population (1990) 42,900. It is situated on the Jordan River, and is a residential suburb lying 18 km/12 mi south-southwest of Salt Lake City. The town was settled in 1849, and still has a sawmill built by early settlers in 1850. There is some light industry.
