Westerham

Market town in the North Downs of Kent, southeast England; population (2001, Westerham and Crockham Hill) 4,100. It is largely residential. Nearby Westerham Hill (252 m/827 ft) is the highest point in Kent.

General James Wolfe, who captured Québec from the French in 1759, was born at the vicarage and lived at Québec House, now a National Trust property; 2.5 km/1.5 mi to the south is Chartwell, the former residence of Winston Churchill.
