Westminster

Town in Orange County, southwest California; population (1990) 78,100. It is located to the northwest of Santa Ana and 40 km/25 mi southeast of Los Angeles. It has industrial parks producing various light manufactures, as well as large commercial malls. It is noted as home to a sizeable Vietnamese community, known locally as ‘Little Saigon’. Westminster was founded in 1870 as a Presbyterian temperance colony.

Town in Adams and Jefferson counties, north-central Colorado; population (1990) 74,600. It is a mainly residential suburb, 14 km/9 mi northwest of Denver city centre. This rapidly growing town also has a number of industries, including the manufacture of telephone equipment and electrical products.

Town and administrative headquarters of Carroll County, north Maryland; population (1990) 13,100. It is situated 48 km/30 mi northwest of Baltimore. It is an agricultural centre and also serves as a Baltimore commuter dormitory. Western Maryland College (1867) is in the town. Westminster was founded in 1764, and was a Union supply base during the Civil War.

He went up to London towards mid-day and ate a slice of turkey and some Christmas pudding by himself at Gatti's, and since he had nothing to do afterwards went to Westminster Abbey for the afternoon service.
