Provisions of Oxford

Demands agreed by Henry III of England 1258 under pressure from Simon de Montfort and the baronial opposition. They provided for the establishment of a baronial council to run the government, carry out reforms, and keep a check on royal power. These provisions were eventually anulled by the Dictum of Kenilworth 1266, after the defeat of Montfort's followers by the king's forces.
