Whalsay

One of the Shetland Islands, Scotland, 21 km/13 mi northeast of Lerwick; population (2001) 1,030. Lying to the northeast of the group, it extends over an area of 32 sq km/12 sq mi. Fishing is the main industry. Its largest settlement is Symbister, the principal ferry point of the island. Britain's most northerly golf course is located on the island.
