Whernside

Mountain in North Yorkshire, England; height 736 m/2,415 ft. One of the highest peaks of the Pennines, it stands in the moorlands at the junction of Yorkshire with Cumbria and Lancashire.

ANDY WHITWORTH and Allan Greenwood lead the Huddersfield challenge in Sunday's Three Peaks cylo cross race, It's the 47th edition of the gruelling 38-mile event which takes in the famous trio of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-ghent.
