Whitbroke, William

Whitbroke, William (lived 1520–50)

English cleric and composer. He was educated at Cardinal College (later Christ Church), Oxford, where he was ordained in 1529. In 1531 he was appointed sub-dean at St Paul's Cathedral in London and soon afterwards also vicar of All Saints' Church at Stanton, Suffolk, where he may have retired on leaving St Paul's in 1535.
