Whitchurch-Stouffville

Town in south Ontario, Canada; population (1991) 18,400. It is located 35 km/22 mi north of Toronto. The village of Stouffville, founded in 1804, and the township of Whitchurch were consolidated in 1971; the town includes the communities of Ballantrae, Wesley Corners, and Pleasantville. In a fertile agricultural area, it is now experiencing suburban growth.
