Vienna Circle

Group of philosophers in Vienna, Austria, in the 1920s and 1930s, who advocated logical positivism. The group, which was highly influential, centred on Moritz Schlick, professor of philosophy at the University of Vienna, and dispersed after he was assassinated 1936.
