Wightman Cup

Annual tennis competition between international women's teams from the USA and the UK, which was contested 1923–1989. The trophy was donated by Hazel Hotchkiss Wightman (1886–1974), a former US tennis player who won singles, doubles, and mixed-doubles titles in the US Championships 1909–1911. Because of US domination of the contest it was abandoned in 1990.
