Wilbraham, John (1944– )

English trumpeter. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London (1962–65), and with Maurice André. He was trumpeter with the New Philharmonic Orchestra (1966–69), the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra first trumpeter (1969–72), and was a member of the BBC Symphony Orchestra from 1972. His recordings include concertos by Telemann, Torelli, Hummel, and Haydn.
