Hickok, Wild Bill (1837–1876)

US pioneer and law enforcer, a legendary figure in the West. In the Civil War he was a sharpshooter and scout for the Union army. He then served as marshal in Kansas, killing as many as 27 people. He was a prodigious gambler and was fatally shot from behind while playing poker in Deadwood, South Dakota.

He established his reputation as a gunfighter when he killed a fellow scout, turned traitor.

Her final request was to be buried next to Wild Bill Hickok.
In the Wild West outpost of Deadwood City in 1876, we find sharpshooting tomboy Calamity Jane surrounded by cowboys, townsfolk, and the famous Wild Bill Hickok.
Then she married the legendary Wild Bill Hickok, bringing her even more public attention, though he was killed only five months later.
