Wilkinsburg

Town in Allegheny County, southwest Pennsylvania,; population (1990) 21,100. It lies to the east of Pittsburgh. Primarily residential, it has no major industries, and serves as a retailing hub for the area. Wilkinsburg is the original home of KDKA, which originated the first commercial radio broadcast in 1920.
