Wilkinson, Tom (1948– )

English character actor whose reputation was enhanced in the late 1990s by his performances in the Dickens adaptation Martin Chuzzlewit and the hit comedy film The Full Monty (1997). Often cast in supporting roles, he went on to earn an Academy Award nomination for his characterization of a high-powered attorney who suffers a crisis of conscience in the drama Michael Clayton (2007).

Other film performances include In the Name of the Father (1993), Sense and Sensibility (1995), Oscar and Lucinda (1997), Smilla's Sense of Snow (1997), Shakespeare in Love (1998), and The Patriot (2000).

Television appearances include Prime Suspect (1990), Resnick: Lonely Hearts (1992), Crossing the Floor (1996), Cold Enough for Snow (1997), David Copperfield (1999), and John Adams (2007).
