Guillaume Tell

Opera by André Grétry (libretto by J M Sedaine), first produced at the Comédie-Italienne, Paris, France, on 9 April 1791.

It is also the title of an opera by Rossini (libretto by V J E de Jouy and H L F Bis, based on Schiller's drama), first produced at the Paris Opéra, France, on 3 August 1829. It was Rossini's last opera. It tells the story of the Swiss patriot William Tell.
