Williams, Robert Ray

Williams, Robert Ray (1918– )

US aviator. He organized the first Army Aviation Unit in 1946, as the Army Air Force prepared to become the independent US Air Force. Born in Evanston, Wyoming, he graduated from West Point. He commanded the Army Aviation Centre 1962–63 and advised South Vietnamese forces 1966–67.
