Williamson, David Keith (1942– )

Australian dramatist and scriptwriter. He is noted for his witty fast-moving dialogue and realistic plots and settings. His plays include The Removalists (1971), which won awards in both Australia and the UK, The Department (1975), The Perfectionist (1981), Emerald City (1987), Money And Friends (1991), and Corporate Vibes (1999).

Other plays include Don's Party (1971), The Club (1977), Travelling North (1979), and Siren (1990), which opened simultaneously in Sydney and Melbourne. Williamson's screenplays include Stork (1971), Eliza Fraser (1976), Gallipoli (1981), and (as co-writer) The Year of Living Dangerously (1982).
