Wilson, Richard (1936- )

Scottish actor who became famous in the 1990s for his portrayal of the grumpy pensioner Victor Meldrew in the BBC sitcom One Foot in the Grave. Prior to that he had a long theatrical career and also appeared in the off-beat comedy drama Tutti Frutti.

Wilson, Richard (1926- )

British physicist. A specialist in both elementary particles and environmental physics, he was an outspoken advocate of the need for atomic power. Born in London, England, he came to the USA in 1950 to be a research associate at Rochester (1950-51) and Stanford (1951-52) while concurrently teaching at Christ Church, Oxford, England (1948-53). He joined Harvard in 1955.
