Windows Open Services Architecture

Set of interfaces defined by Microsoft to enable Windows programs from different vendors to communicate with one another.

Microsoft has added the AES instructions to the Windows API (application programming interface) so application developers can build programs using the feature.
“It does this by hooking various Windows API calls that are used in audio input and output.
The project uses Windows APIs to translate speech into sign language, making it easier for the deaf to communicate.
