Winslow

Market town in Buckinghamshire, England, 10 km/6 mi southeast of Buckingham; population (2001) 5,900. The church dates from the 13th century, and Winslow Hall, reputedly designed by Christopher Wren, was built in 1700 for William Lowndes, secretary to the Treasury.

Winslow was the site of a palace of the kings of the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Mercia.

Winslow

Town in Navajo County, northeast Arizona; population (1990) 8,200. It is located 89 km/55 mi east-southeast of Flagstaff. Settled in 1882 on the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad, it developed as a livestock shipping point. It has railway work shops and produces lumber. The town is a tourist base for the Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservations, Meteor Crater, and Petrified Forest.
