Włocławek

Capital of Włocławek province, central Poland, on the River Vistula, 140 km/87 mi northwest of Warsaw; population (2002) 121,200. It is a river port, and its chief industries are metalwork, paper, and food processing. Founded in the 11th century, it has a 14th-century cathedral.
