Wolfrum, Philipp (1854-1919)

German composer and organist. He studied at Munich with Rheinberger and others. He later became organist and music director to Heidelberg University, and also conducted choral performances.

Vocal

oratorio Weihnachtsmysterium (1899), Das grosse Hallelujah (Klopstock, 1886) for male chorus, hymns Der evangelische Kirchenchor for chorus, Festmusik for baritone and male chorus (1903); songs.

Instrumental

string quartet, quintet, string trio, cello and piano sonata; three sonatas, 57 preludes, 3 Tondichtungen for organ; piano pieces.
