Wolpe, Stefan (1902–1972)

US composer. He studied with Paul Juon and Schreker in Franz Berlin and in 1933–34 with Webern, then went to Palestine and in 1938 settled in the USA.

Orchestral

symphonies, symphony for 21 instruments (1956), Passacaglia and two Fugues for orchestra.
