Wonder, Stevie (1950– )

US pop musician, singer, and songwriter. He is associated with Motown Records, and had his first hit, ‘Fingertips, Pt. 2’, at the age of 13. Later hits, most of which he composed and sang, and on which he also played several instruments, include ‘My Cherie Amour’, ‘You Are the Sunshine of My Life’, ‘Superstition’, ‘Isn't She Lovely?’, and ‘I Just called to Say I Love You’. Among his critically acclaimed albums are Where I'm Coming From (1972), Innervisions (1973), and Songs in the Key of Life (1976). Later works include Jungle Fever (1991) and Conversation Peace (1995).

In 1999 he received the Kennedy Center Honors award for lifetime achievement in the performing arts.
