Woo-Ping, Yuen

    0.02 sec.

Woo-Ping, Yuen (1945– )

Chinese director. His films include The Story of Drunken Master (1978), Wing Chun (1994), and Fist of Legend (1997). He became well known for his ‘wire-fu’ action choreography, in which actors perform kung fu moves while attached to wires that make them appear to fly and walk up walls, in such films as Iron Monkey (1993), The Matrix (1999), and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000).

Woo-Ping studied kung fu under his father, Yuen Siu Tin, and worked as a kung fu fighter and stuntman for films during the late 1960s. He directed his first film, Snake in the Eagle's Shadow, starring Jackie Chan, in 1978.
