Wood, Hugh (1932– )

English composer. He studied composition with A Milner, I Hamilton, and Seiber. He taught at Morley College 1959–62, at Liverpool University 1971–73, and at Cambridge University from 1976.

Scenes from Comus for soprano, tenor, and orchestra (1965); cello concerto (1969), chamber concerto (1971), violin concerto (1972), symphony (1982), piano concerto (1991).

Chamber

four string quartets (1959–93), quintet for clarinet, horn, and piano trio (1967), piano trio (1984), horn trio (1989).
