| Edible fungus belonging to the class Basidiomycetes, found in the autumn. Lepista saeva, with a greyish cap and thick, violet-stained stem, is a pasture species; the wood blewit L. nuda is a clear bluish lilac when young, the cap and gills later becoming reddish. |
