Wood, Natalie (1938–1981)

US film actor. She started out as a child star and made a smooth transition into adult roles. Her films include Miracle on 34th Street (1947), Rebel Without a Cause (1955), The Searchers (1956), West Side Story (1961), and Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice (1969). She was known for her passionate roles and was nominated for three Academy Awards.

Her film debut was a small part in the film Happy Land at the age of four. Other films include Splendor in the Grass (1961) and Gypsy (1962). She was married to actor Robert Wagner and died by drowning in a boating accident.
