Woodward, (Ernest) Llewellyn (1890–1971)

English historian. An expert in international relations and British foreign policy, he held professorships in both England and the USA.

Woodward was educated at Merchant Taylors' School and Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He was successively professor of international relations (1944–47) and professor of modern history (1947–51) at Oxford, before going to teach at Princeton University in the USA, 1951–62. He was knighted in 1952.
