Wozzeck

Opera by Alban Berg (libretto by composer, from G Büchner's drama of 1836), produced at the Berlin Opera on 14 December 1925. Jealous soldier Wozzeck knifes mistress Marie after she is seduced by the Drum Major and he is taunted by the Captain and Doctor. Insane, he drowns himself.

Opera by M Gurlitt (libretto ditto), produced in Bremen on 22 April 1926.
