Wranitzky, Anton (1761-1820)

Moravian violinist and composer. He was a friend of Beethoven and arranged Haydn's Creation for string quartet. He was the brother of Paul Wranitzky.

He was a pupil of Haydn, Mozart, and Albrechtsberger. From 1797 he was Kapellmeister to Prince Lobkowitz, and in 1814 became music director at the Theater an der Wien in Vienna.
