Wranitzky, Paul (1756–1808)

Moravian violinist and composer. In the 1780s he was in the service of Count Esterházy (not to be confused with Prince Esterházy, Haydn's employer) and in about 1790 became leader of the court opera orchestra in Vienna. He was the brother of Anton Wranitzky.

He studied with J M Kraus and Haydn in Vienna.
