Wrotham

Wrotham

Village in Kent, southeast England, 16 km/10 mi west of Maidstone, at the foot of the North Downs; population (2001) 1,800. It is mainly residential. Nearby Wrotham Hill rises to 236 m/775 ft.

There are remains of the palace of the archbishop of Canterbury, which was demolished in the 14th century and replaced by the palace at Maidstone.

The M20 motorway runs through the village of Wrotham Heath just to the north.
