Wroxeter

Village in Shropshire, England, 11 km/7 mi southeast of Shrewsbury. Situated on the River Severn, where it is crossed by the Roman road Watling Street, it was the site of the Roman-British town of Viroconium. The remains include parts of the forum, basilica, and public baths.

The site and a museum are administered by the Department of the Environment.
