Wyeth, N(ewel) C(onvers) (1882–1944)

US artist. He was the foremost US illustrator of his time as well as an accomplished muralist. He illustrated over 20 children's classics, including Treasure Island, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Robin Hood, and The Yearling.

Born in Needham, Massachusetts, USA, Wyeth's students included his daughter Henriette and his son Andrew.
