linear equationIn mathematics, a relationship between two variables that, when plotted on Cartesian axes, produces a straight-line graph; the equation has the general form y = mx + c, where m is the slope of the line represented by the equation and c is the y-intercept, or the value of y where the line crosses the y-axis in the Cartesian coordinate system. Sets of linear equations can be used to describe the behaviour of buildings, bridges, trusses, and other static structures. How to thank TFD for its existence?
