Yinchuan

Capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, northwest China, on the Huang He River; population (2000) 578,400. It is a trading centre for the Ningxia Plain. Industries include the manufacture of machinery, plastic products, and textiles, and the processing of wool and hides from surrounding grazing areas.
